@iwasapenny I'm just learning myself, mostly by trial and error. There is a ratio like KN in solids, it's the area of the throat divided by the area of the injector, AT/AI, it should be between 20:1 and 13:1. It also relates to chamber pressure like KN. Don't know anything about regressing rates, sorry.

Can you recommend some literature or online resources on hybrid design? I fly sugar and do AP every once in a while and I want to try a hybrid now, but I'm not sure where to start.
What is confusing me is the Kn ratio in relation to the flow of oxidizer, as well as figuring out flow rates and how much flow is required for a given amount of fuel. I have also seen "regression rates" mentioned, is this equivalent to the A or N of a solid propellant?
Hybrids are confusing.....

was nice Dan*

@solidskateboards If you use your top secret sugar mixture, you can control the burn easier, and stop and restart for multiple burns! And Go BIG! Bang! Zoom! Suga to da MOON!
It looks like there is a neon light transformer to the right side of the video (the rocket's left). Is that correct? Are you using the for ignition?
noahspurrier 2 weeks ago
@noahspurrier No, it's just a remote relay and two 9 volt batteries. I wrote a book on how to make the rocket and the engine, it's called "I Still Have All My Fingers" and it's available on Amazon. Hope that helps.

Do you use a mixture of KNO3? And what kind of mixture of fuel it is for the fire and thrust? And also what do you use not to blow up?

@cosmin0192837465 That engine test was NOX and PVC.

Nice setup. What did the disassembly show? The motors were both very fuel rich during the burn, and it looked like there was some grain splintering going on.
Nessalco 6 months ago
@Nessalco The grains were layered so that was expected. The burn was very even but as you say, too fuel rich.
