Nearly 1,500 students with disabilities and their 160 teachers in the Special School District of St. Louis County participate in the unique CHOICES 4-H Club, offered through University of Missouri Extension in St. Louis County. The district-wide club is in its fourth year of offering character education and learning by doing. The 4-H curriculum aligns with the Show-Me Standards and has been specially written to meet needs of students with disabilities. The culmination of their year of activities takes place at the annual Achievement Days over a 4-day period. In 2010, the event was held March 1 & 2 at the North County Recreation Complex and March 3 & 4 in South County in Jefferson Barracks Park.
