It's a scrolling LED ticker for all your online scores! This project is in development, but let me know if you'd like to know more about working with these scrolling signs or with social network API's.

  • Who made your table? I forgot her channel name

  • @CarlitzLuevanos Meg Allen Cole made it for the CRAFT channel. It's great, isn't it?

  • For facebook count, did you tried developers dot facebook dot com/docs/reference/api/user/ ?

  • @xanokothe Yeah, I was hoping to be able to do it without OAuth. It'll just take some time for me to set that up.

  • Cool stuff - I'd be curious brand/model of the LED sign

  • @sators Oh yes, I forgot to mention. It's an Alpha 215R

  • A full HOWTO would be great! Twitter trends would be fun. Also adding a real time clock would be useful. How about News headlines from a RSS feed? Really cool project.

  • i'm very interested in knowing how to make one of these....are you going to make a how to video?

  • @mrichardson23 Yea I loved it :) I was going to attempt making one, I just couldn't find the video.

  • That's awesome

  • add "$i = get_file_contents('hits.txt'); file_put_contents(strval(intval($i)+1),'hits.txt');" to your website, and then download "/hits.txt" with the arduino :)

  • @ampix0 You program in C like. C# and Java are focus on virtual machines. I recommend that you buy a Duemilanove Arduino, a breadboard and some LEDs and resistors, and see some tutorials on web.

  • code?

  • I would love a whole arduino school :P I know nothing about it. Can I program with a language liek C# or java on one? (I know the java part was stupid)

  • I did something similar with a 4U2SEE sign. It had ethernet built-in and I used the ADP (Advanced Display Protocol) to update the text. I have a PHP script that runs on a Ubuntu box that polls our web server and simply opens a socket to the sign to update it. I really like this arduino idea, because the non ethernet signs are a lot cheaper...
