After Rachael and Justin's first baby Gracie Anne was stillborn at 23 weeks 6 days gestation- (April 19th 2008) due to Turner's Syndrome, Cystic Hygroma and Fetal Hydrops, we were all overjoyed on Jan. 6th 2009 to learn they were expecting a healthy boy. Not even a week later at 20 and 1/2 weeks gestation Rachael had some alarming symptoms and was diagnosed with incompetent cervix/pre-term labor (cause unknown). She underwent an emergency cerclage and was on hospital bedrest for a month. Then February 11th she went into labor and it could not be stopped. She had her little boy at 24 weeks 6 days gestation. This blog http://rachaelsupdateblog.blogspot.com/ tells of Rachael's time on hospital bedrest and now is telling of Jimmie's ongoing miraculous journey in the NICU.

after 4 months he was released and is now about to turn 4 yrs. old. he is our biggest blessing and has been the most difficult but also amazing experience ever! we thank the Lord for blessing us with our little miracle that is now the biggest part of our lives!

We lived it all, my little guy was born@ 25 wks & 3 days weighing 1.13lbs he suffered from a ruptured intestine @ a week old and had an eliostimy. *e was in the hospital for 4 months

Oh what a wonderful baby.. My son Jeremiah was born at 24 weeks weighting
1 pound 12 ounces and 13 & 1/2 Inches long. Sadly he had a brain hermerrage a few days after birth since they made him breath on his own after birth. I was very bad and didnt know what was happening. My son died 40 days after birth and I miss him with all my heart. He was my Husband and I first child and Its been very hard for us. But God is wonderful and hes helping with the pain.

My daughter was born at 27 weeks and 5 days gestation, but thankfully weighed 2 pounds 12 ounces, but her lungs and heart were still imature. You know you are really blessed. If you had gone into labor at 20 weeks the hospital may have denied medical care to the baby, since some hospitals denie care to those under 22 weeks. How is he doing these days though? My daughter is doing great and she's learning how to talk now. I am also about 7 weeks pregnant so praying against prematurity thistim
