POLICE BRUTALITY

12/8/2006 PEACEFUL protest in downtown Long Beach against military recruitment is met with police in full riot gear. The police had been pushing us & forcing us to walk for a while. They shot a boy in the leg with a pellet gun. They hit a girl on her backpack so hard her water bottle snapped open. The protestors were very peaceful - minor yelling, but the yelling was provoked by the police. I started filming after all this had been going on for several minutes.. then the police STOPPED pushing us and they formed a line (this is what you will see in the video). 30 seconds after I stopped filming, they started chasing the thirty or so protestors down dark ghetto alleyways and beating people with batons. Emmanuel, the man that yells "hold up!" at the end, continued to say "You force us to walk all the way to the ghetto, but you don't come in yourselves?!" After he said that, the police attacked. Unfortunately I didn't get it on video. Scariest moment of my life.

Lol shitty comments. I didn't actually expect thousands of people to see this. It's merely a clip of the protest & is obviously hard to see anything that's going on. Poorly shot video. But it was a peaceful protest..and the police actually beat people with batons & shot a kid that was trying to "disperse". Don't care if anyone believes the story. But you should click on the ads in the video so I can make a few pennies lol.

I guess we all have our own interpetation of police burtality. I didn't see anything, other than people wearing masks and walking down the street Oh, and some old woman in a motorized wheelchair with some oranges. It was probably the most intense part of the video.

I was part of this peaceful protest! we were all concealing our faces because We only like freedom of speech as long as nobody knows who we are

...I wonder why the police didn't like that?

NOBODY should be allowed to voluntarily join the military EVER!

EVERYONE is better off being defenseless and vulnerable!

I don't believe at all that the police magically knew when you were and were not filming. The title to the video is a sham, since you have no proof.

The fact that you were protesting military recruitment, which gives thousands of men and women good careers every year, makes me sick to my stomach.

If it weren't for our military defending your freedoms, you wouldn't be able to protest at all. Stop bitching.
