Beijing, China: The Pangiayuan "Dirt Market"

The Panjiayuan "Dirt Market" only takes place on Saturdays and Sundays. If you've never visited during a Beijing visit, do! One of the best flea markets I've ever been to anywhere in the world with something for everyone including a rare antique (not that I would know but see serious shoppers there).

Mao junk, pottery, tibetan, porcelain, old clothes, furniture, jewelry, village handicrafts from all over China...you name it...it's probably being sold. Bargain HARD. Walk away at least the length of one row and if they don't come after you, your offering price was too low. We usually offer 1/4 or less of the asking price. I wouldn't think of visiting Beijing on a weekend without a stop at the Dirt Market. Too much fun for words...

@fairply1 Sorry but I have no idea what the address is. All you have to do is have your hotel/hostel/whatever write down this exact name and take the subway, bus or taxi. That's what we always do (usually taxi) and you'll have no problem. Remember, weekends only! Best regards, Travels With Sheila
