The IRS will now REMOVE a tax lien from your credit report "if requested by the tax payer" when payment in full is made. As opposed to showing it as a paid tax lien for seven years and then aging off. Once paid, It will be removed off the report like it was never there. But it gets better, watch my video on how to get it removed before you pay it off. www.thecreditguy.tv

  • All,

I have some new information, I am helping a friend try to get a federal tax lien removed under this new guideline. look for IRS form 12277 and stay tuned for a new video explaining exactly how to get a federal tax lien removed on your own...

  • @Sullythecreditguy also look for Form 668(Y) new video to come shortly

  • my pleasure

  • What about State tax lien. Are they in connection with the IRS also? I am almost finished paying my state tax bill can they be removed too? Please let me know. Thank you!!!

  • @darrylj4u sorry it is just for federal tax liens but once you pay off the state lien it will have less and less of an effect

  • @Sullythecreditguy HUH? what do you mean less and less of an effect? a lien is a lien weather the bill is paid or not in general. Even if you had a lien put on your report for $100. If I only owe $1 and the lien is still on my credit report it will have the same value as any other lien, depending on how long it has been on the report so I don't get that less and less of an effect thing ur saying. Well sorry you might not know about liens and credit reports like I thought you did.

  • @darrylj4uthank you for your comment what I intended by “less and less of an impact” that was the older a tax lien is the less of an impact it has on the FICO score. The same holds true for any account. The older the date of last activity or reporting date the less of an impact it has on the FICO scoring model. check out my other video for more info on that and thanks for watching and replying
