I actually think the mother was completely right in asking Zubeidaa to give up her child to her. Zubeidaa was very naive and lovestruck over a few praises of a prince she barely knew, and was willing to give up even her own child for it. I think the grandmother gave Riyaz a better life then Zubeidaa would have.

yes that is true. She was a weak woman all her life both physically and mentally. But in this particular scene she was right as we all know what happened to Zubeida after she marries him.

@sabbirsa Sorry her mother was not right all along. She made mistakes too. Like not saying something when her dad forced her into that marriage. They showed the women were doormats. If she had a backbone, she could have helped save Zubeida from all this mess and perhaps raised Zubeida to be a responsible mature woman.Zubeida acted like a child most her life. Her mother referred to her husband as "Saheb" for goodness sake :|

actually if you had seen the climax her mother was right all along. zubeidaa was grossly wrong.
