Great choice of sub! But, isn't bad to play the sub while the trunk is open? It's in a ported box, and because the trunk is depressurized, so is the sub, and you might burn the voice coil because its expanding and contracting MUCH more than when the trunk is closed. I accidentally blew my sub while doing this.

every1 on youtube has their own opinion..it all depends on what your going for...if u throw it in your box u have it will bang,but if u build a box with proper air space it will slam!!!

i got a question im thinken about getting one of these im upgrading from a pos excursion audio i was wondering if the btl i was looking at is 550 watts rms and the amp i have is 600 w max can you let me know whats gonna happen would i need a difrent box or what im coming to you cause exo dont respond so just wondering whats the deal plz get back to me thx

Yeah, but this happened to my kicker dual comps. The lowest sub on the Kicker totem pole. haha. I don't know how the Fis handle the pressure difference though. Probably better.
