If you're currently torn between the need to prioritise performance or size and mobility, you'll be pleased to know that there's a brand new PDA available that's been specifically designed to offer you the best of both worlds -- all the critical tools for the job packed within an impressively lightweight and compact mobile device. And here it is -- the Nautiz X3 from Handheld.

The Nautiz X3 is Handheld's smallest handheld mobile computer yet, measuring only 150 by 67 millimetres and with a thickness of only 25 millimetres.

But such a small size can still deliver big performance. With GSM, GPRS and EDGE functionality, together with UMTS and HSDPA capability, the Nautiz X3's superior voice and data transmitting quality offers the advantages of a smartphone coupled with the capabilities of a computer. And it's fast and reliable for sending or uploading documents, images and other data -- such as syncing up with the office or colleagues from the field.

The Nautiz X3 is also extremely light, weighing in at less than 260 grams. In fact, it fits naturally in one hand, and you can tuck it away just about anywhere when you're not using it. But more than this, the Nautiz X3's compact form factor doesn't compromise on ruggedness and is ready for the most challenging work conditions.

Indeed, the PDA carries an IP65 rating meaning it's impervious to dust and highly resistant to water. And if it accidentally falls out of your hand, don't worry -- the Nautiz X3 can withstand repeated drops from 1.8 meters. It also passes full Milatary standard testing and can operates in extreme temperatures ranging from minus 20 degrees celcius to 60 degrees celcius.

Beyond being small, powerful and rugged, the Nautiz X3 is also full of the integrated standard features you want. It has a sunlight-readable 2.8 inch QVGA touchscreen optimised for outdoor applications, and a keypad with backlit alphanumeric keys plus separate function buttons.

There's a 3-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, Wireless LAN, and Bluetooth. It also features a standard 1D laser barcode scanner and an optional 2D imager. Additionally, this 3G cellular unit is equipped with a powerful 806 MHz X-Scale processor and operates Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional.

And the list doesn't stop there. Handheld's Nautiz X3 is equipped with 256 megabites of RAM for advanced applications; and has 512 megabites of Flash memory for storage. A powerful 3300 Milliamp hour Lithium-Ion battery is also included, providing more than enough power for a full working day. Plus, accessory options include a desktop cradle, quad dock, vehicle cradle and carry case.

The Nautiz X3 certainly packs an impressive amount of rugged performance into a small, affordable package. Here's a tool that easily fits in your pocket, can go anywhere and does everything you need. So, if your field service team needs all the in-built functionality found in the best of today's state-of-the-art mobile devices, but all within a truly pocket-sized powerhouse of a handheld computer that goes beyond a smartphone, you may well have to look no further than the brand new Nautiz X3 from Handheld.
