umpteen million years ago, when the world was sooo very new, i interviewed frank the spring after he was traded from the orioles to the dodgers. what a wonderful ballplayer he was, and what a hellavah MAN this gentleman is.

This brought tears to my eyes. A great baseball player & wonderful human being. I met him in 1978 when he was coaching with the Orioles. I wish I had been more into baseball as a teenager so I could have seen him play.

thanks for posting this...As an Orioles fan, I always liked Frank, but watching the Nationals, I grew to respect him even more. Baseball is very lucky to have someone like Frank Robinson. What a great moment this was!

Frank was my favorite player growing up.
they don't make'em like him anymore,truly a
great player. too bad all the juice heads
passed him on the homerun list. sammy soso,
fairy bonds and the like.
