You don't train cats to knead it's inate to stimulate milk in Mother Cat's breast for feeding, it
just happened that the dog was laying in that position.....pure clean innocence.

all cats can massage like that, it's their old habits when they are milking from their mum cat, they massage it so the milk from the glands are stimulated and pushed out so they can nomnom on it. the instinct stays and they do this when they feel safe and cozy and love. so it's not a killjoy explanation :P if your cats does this to you it really does means that they love you.
