I'd love to see surgarland hang out with Steve someday. Maybe swap some stories about doing heroine in Memphis, or being a homeless for 3 years. I think the only thing I like about this song is that hopefully some teenage kid actually goes and looks up some Earle. If that happens with one person maybe this song would be justified, if not I won't mind, I'll keep drinkin just the same! Cheers and Long Live the Earle!

From what I have read, Steve never bothered to listen to it, much less said he loves it. (And I read a LOT of his interviews.) Yeah, it is funny. I will give them that. But you need to listen to Elizabeth Cook, Rachel Brooks,or any one of a number of real country artists never played on mainstream radio, if you think she is the "baddest" out there. Even in pop country there is much better in Miranda Lambert (not my cup of tea, but better than this.)
