  • I have the same problem on my PC, can someone please help????

  • @MayoPink448 i just bought a external hard drive enclosure.. Took my drive from my lap top and put it in the external drive connected it to my desk top. Then i was able to recover all my data.. Also check out the comment directly under this one. This is the same thing i did to fix this issue.

  • @MayoPink448 an External Enclosure is a housing for a HDD that you don't use anymore so that you can put it in and retrieve the files on the HDD without putting it back in to the pc. more information can be found at wikipedia Hard_Drive_Enclosure

  • @robjton sir, were you able to recover your data from the faulty hard drive?

  • @shalabhjaiswal Yes i just bought a external hard drive enclosure.. Took my drive from my lap top and put it in the external drive connected it to my desk top. Then i was able to recover all my data.. Then i just bought another drive for my laptop.

  • HP does three hard drive tests if one fails and you are under warranty u can get a replacement @ no charge if you are unable to backup files then best kiss them goodbye and start over.

  • @buckskinMMA Thanks.. I just bought another drive and formatted it to windows 7 and used the old one as a secondary drive and was able to get everything off it.. Still using it for storage now.. The only issue now is that i can not use my old windows 7 product key on this new hard drive for some reason... uggg!!!

  • @robjton Thanks for the tip. I got a SATA to USB adapter, hooked the drive to another computer and I was able to recover my data from the faulty hard drive.
