  • They are "Finback" whales. They are around 40 feet long. Thanks for viewing.

  • This video was taken one mile offshore from the Wright Brothers Monument. It was in the winter during the Rockfish migration along the coast.

  • How far off of the coast were ya? I go to Kitty Hawk every year and dream of seeing something like this. Last summer some guy got eaten by a shark, closest I got to marine life

  • Looks choppy out there. Actually, these are humpback whales. Humpacks are about 40 feet long and have that "hump" just ahead of their dorsal fin. Finbacks are 60-70 feet, and very rarely bring their tail out of the water.
