Jack Parsons was a high ranking member of Ordo Templi Orientis (OTO). He took the "Oath of the Abyss" which is something an Adept does to become a Magister Templi (Master of the Temple). L. Ron Hubbard attempted to blackmail Jack Parsons. I have seen proof of this, but I think that the statute of limitations has run out on that and besides, it would be pointless to bring this issue up in court , but it does shed some light on Hubbard's character. Hubbard made a bad Thelemite in my opinion.

I know of Jack Parson't involvement with Aleister Crowley's Ordo Templi Orientis in Pasadena. That's his business. Parsons was able to draw the line between his mundane and his religious activities. Parsons was "friends" with the late L. Ron Hubbard at that time. What's wrong with an invocation to Pan? The Soviet rocket scientist, Korolioff, pissed on Sputnik's rocket engine shortly before take off. Just as long as the devise works, I don't care about prayers and incantations preceeding it
