Does more forest mean more biodiversity? The researchers want to test this relationship. Does a greater quantity of biomass, the so-called primary production of all green plants, also mean more biodiversity in the form of more trees, bushes, herbs, and all kinds of animals in an ecosystem? For their experiment, the rainforest pioneers want to compare the growth of forests with different levels of biodiversity. First, they need to determine the biomass of the forests. But how do you weigh a tree?
