This is my first test of the WLX Pro wireless system. Shot inside and at a max distance of 70' with a Kodak Zi8. This is RAW video. Did not use a mono to stereo splitter but, will in the future to get sound on both sides. This mic is about $ 140. and takes 2 9v batteries to run for field work.
So awkward.

What is the battery life like?

The sound seems to be breaking up a bit. I can't tell if it's the mic or the camera recording it...I know the Kodak doesn't record audio at too high of a quality setting however I think this may be my first wireless mic set.
Does the large wind screen come off the mic?
It looks way too annoying to keep on for standard shots IMO.

I agree and have tested a few things....I removed the wind screen and moved the mic closer to my face on my shirt. I also used the other channel. This all seemed to greatly improve the sound quality.
When you play back in HD rather than low res., the sound file seems to be better as well BUT, it could be my imagination.

Sounds like you get a bit of noise, but the quality didn't change with distance, in a way, that's a good thing. I wonder if any fiddling with the antenna would help the sound quality to improve.
