What happens when you flush the toilet? For most of us, what’s out of sight is out of mind. But large numbers of sewage spills into San Francisco Bay are forcing cities, water agencies and the public to take a closer look at wastewater and its effects.

  • I'm glad I never go swimming!

  • Excellent coverate on a serious problem. I wish there were more commentary on using created wetlands to deal with wastewater -- good for wetlands, good for water levels & droughts, excellent non-chemical way to turn sewage into soil.
