Fairytale (poem)

I wrote this poem when I had just turned 15. I never understood why all of my friends were in such a hurry to grow up. The photos were all taken in Northern Ireland. The first one is of Carrickfergus Castle. The rest of the photos were taken at the Giants Causeway. I do hope you enjoy! =)

Fairytale

I want to stay young and innocent.
Why is that so bad?
I don't want to grow up
and be that mean old hag,
who has forgotten all the joys,
that come from being alive.
Who has turned bitter and cold
and can't remember age five.

I want to stay in Never-Never Land.
Where money doesn't matter,
animals can talk,
and people live forever.
Where everyone is treated the same,
no matter what their color.
Where no one ever lets me down,
daddies don't cry,
and I never ever seem to frown.

I want to stay somewhere over the rainbow.
Where people don't get shot at,
just for being there.
Where I'm not afraid to go to school,
and everyone always cares.
Where people love me for who I am,
and they see the inside first.
Where there is no such thing as normal,
and nobody ever looks for the worst.

I want to stay in Wonderland.
Where there is no such thing as drugs,
and the less fortunate are not instantly labeled,
as no good grimy thugs.
Where hate is considered to be wrong,
and peace is more than slogan.
Where everyone gets along,
and violence isn't some sort of fad...
I want to stay young and innocent.
Why is that so bad?

I love visiting those places. The cliffs at the Giants Causway are so big in person.

You got to see the Giant causeway in person? I want to visti Ireland sooo bad :) -- loved the poem. Innocence is so hard to hold onto in this real world.
