Thanks for posting this video. Somewhere I have pics of my kids there, and myself and my sister on one of the kiddie rides when we were little. I live a few miles from it now, but as a kid we drove 45 minutes to get there. To us, that was a HUGE adventure. Miss this place.
So sad to drive by and see condo's in its place. I would have loved being able to bring my own children there. I show them these videos and they both get very excited and say they wish it were still here ... as do I.
I have so many memories of this park. i remember my whole family used to walk down the street to it all the time. It's so sad driving by the place now-a-days- you see nothing at all, but you remember so much. it's horrible what they did... didnt even really save anything... just ruined the whole place.
What memories...from when i was a little boy with my grandfather on the railroad train circling the park, as a teenager flirting with girls, as an adult bringing my children. FIreworks, 4th of July, ice cream cones, arcade, the smells of the park, the Pirate's Den, the fun house, fishing, ski ball, friends and acquaintances, summertime, the drive-in, the Whalom ferry. My mom remembers renting rowboats and sailing the Lake with friends and singing under the stars. It was a beautiful thing ..gone.
I miss Whalom! I have such sentimental memories of it from my childhood. I grew up in Fitchburg, Townsend and Ashby, visiting Whalom a number of times every year. Working at Whalom was one of my first jobs, and I had such fun. My heart feels empty when I watch these videos and know that the park is gone forever.
So sad to see this park disappear. Many memories for me and my family as well as friendly atmosphere instead of the greed of the parks of today.

I'd do anything to go back to that theme park. Anything.

@notnowjohn89 Laura Ingraham uses this song as her opening to her radio talk show. I always think of her when I hear it.

I loved the Merry-go-round! All the p[onies had names and I used to like riding on the one that had my name.
I heard it's coming back. I hope so. What happened was just a shame.
Great use of songs, scubabob!
