@znvalentine The number 1 rule to purchasing a bed is, you can always make a firm mattress softer, but you can't make a soft mattress firmer. So if it's too soft you're screwd.
@znvalentine Odd, thats what everyone says, but the latex ended up "conforming" to my back and not only did it hurt my lower back but it was pulling the muscles away from my spine next to my rib cage, so it felt like I smoked 20 cigars while I was sleeping. We spent the night at a hotel that had a sleep number bed and it was mint. Before the latex and stearns I could only sleep well on my futon from college, that was like a hard packed pillow case. Fat people need support and conformity.
OMG, Please do not buy a sleep number!! And the firmest bed is the furthest thing you would need to help you! The truth is you need a mattress to be kind to the joint complexes while conforming and supporting the natural curves allowing for proper anatomical allignment of your nervous system. I wish i could have helped you choose your proper sleep system.
@summerfunrides About a month ago we thought if we paid top dollar for a mattress we would get top dollar satisfaction, well this hasn't been the case either. We purchased a Stearns and Foster innerspring, which we were told was the fimest on the market, while its still pretty firm I can tell that within the year I see having the same problems. So we're returning this one on the 60 day sleep satisfaction and buying a sleep number bed. I'm 6'2", 210 and my gf is 6', 160.
@summerfunrides I have the Serta Vera Wang latex king size mattress. We put it in the guest room and it currently has 50lb weights on it to guarantee that it meets waranty depth. I purchased this mattress hoping that it would be firm because the innerspring we had before this was starting to impression and it was hurting my lower back. Well after about a year the latex was breaking in soooo much that I was having similar problems with it as well.
@5koorb im interested in buying this bed and im curious, do you have this mattress? how long have you had it? which brand did you purchase? if what you say is true, i need to start my search all over. thank you for your time
I love my latex mattress. Best mattress I've ever owned.

Latex sucks if you're looking for a firm mattress..... the latex turns into a canoe with in 1 year....
