Believe me, those kinds of dynamics exist among some non-Muslims between wife, husband-who-won't-stand-up-for­-her and backbiting in-laws, as well. People are more alike than they are different, which is one of the reasons why I like this show.

I think JJ knew all along that Rayyan was in love with Amaar; and you could tell she loved the way Amaar defended her when they were trying to find the witnesses--and JJ didn't.

Also, the way Rayyan says, "i love you" seemed more to convince herself than JJ. She didn't seem too convinced herself.
