should compare to the "Wing Chun" from Keith Kernspecht

Did you ever get a taker on your fight challenge? If you really are interested in such a challenge you should go into some of the MMA gyms in Fort Worth and issue it there. I am sure you'd have some takers. Please film and post on youtube. I'd love to see how it turns out. I just doubt anyone is going to roll out to Mineral Wells, it looks to be in the middle of nowhere. Just hope you don't get a fighter who "dumbs down" for the cage.

Haha. I know this is a super old post to be responding to. I also want to note that I have mad respect for Wing Chun, my striking coach incorporates Wing Chun, Kali and Muay Thai which is awesome. It is also interesting how much Wing Chun can carry over to BJJ and ground fighting. As my Sifu says, everything is Wing Chun. That being said, takedowns aren't useless. I know guys who can shoot and get an ankle pick from 10 feet away so fast that you have no idea until you're down.

@GUFF21 I train in Moy Yat lineage, so I think I can explain it. It's not that using the elbow is a bad attack. But it's used when your structure has been compromised. So if you purposely collapse your structure to do the elbow, it's a bad idea. Biu Jee is nicknamed "first aid hands" or emergency. It's what you do when things have gone wrong. You have to know these things because things do go wrong in real fights. But they are not the techniques of choice. I hope that makes sense.

@GUFF21 im not an mma fighter, and i was on kung fu side lol,

Ok now for my real question lol. First off im a Leung Ting Wing Tsun guy. And all I have heard since I started (six years) is how bad-ass Sifu Lam is. We have alot of respect for Sifu Lam and his Wing Chun. My question is, why is it bad to attack with a Ding-Jarn (butting-elbow)? Givin a time or place i think it is all applicable. I just saw a video of a Moy yat guy trying to say that Kwai-Jarn was a bad attack? Then why have the Biu-Tze formwith all the elbows?
Respect,
Jeff H.

@OldschoolDresta The problem with MMA fighters (respect) is they are limited to certain techniques. The reason alot of Wing Tsun (chun) people do not fight in the ring is because they limit what you can use. If any MMA fighter thinks they are bad bad, challenge a wing tsun guy to a no holds barred comp. I currently live in mineral wells texas, if your in the area, give me a shout, only NO RULES. We'll see whats up.

@MrBuggaLugs depends if the stupid mma boy tries to fk around with useless takedowns XD

@OldschoolDresta Must disagree with you man "wing chun user would win in 10 sec...u must be one of the stupid mma boy... "
3 seconds ;-)
Gary Lam is very good . His dvds are some of the best i have seen. He has a fantastic understanding of wing chun. I have been training in wing chun for 13 years . The information he passes on is first class.

It's always good to see someone doing Wing Chun correctly with all the bollocks floating about on youtube.
Much respect Sifu Lam. :)
