@NeegDawb was it hard for you to learn Hmong? i mean what made you want to learn how to speak hmong?

@NeegDawb I think that u r good. For a caucasian thats not bad at all. True! U have to work harder on ur hmong pronunciation, but from what i see, U r on the right track. Even though your Hmong is not very clear, you still sing better in Hmong than me. =)

I'm gonna have to agree with you on this. It does sound kind of weird that you shorten it; it's rather a bit confusing. And yes, we do understand it base on the context so it's not like the whole meaning is lost; but it feels incomplete, and it doesn't give the whole feeling to the words. But overall, I admire that you are taking the time to learn and understand the Hmong Language. It really makes me happy. :) And I still love the song.

Hi NeegDawb! You are great! (Your style reminds me of Green Day circa '94 to '96) Keep up the wonderful work ! I'm also a little envious - lol, I'm a Hmong girl and my Hmong isn't as good as I'd like it to be... and I can barely sing an entire Hmong song. You're inspiring me to keep practicing as well!
PS my boyfriend said you're making him look bad! haha

@NeegDawb No, no, I understand why you would shorten words and sometimes the meaning can be taken from the context given that it's music and still understandable. But at the same time, Hmong is a language that is monosyllabic so when you shorten words, you get different meanings and unless someone was really paying attention to the lyrics they wouldn't know. (And because the language is already monosyllabic, people don't really shorten words.) -- I hope I'm not offending you. >.<
iam pretty amaze! how look did it take you to learn hmong? i'm hmong and you know more hmong than me :X!

@Silliesunflower Well, I'm still learning, but I guess I've been learning for about a year and four months now.

I think I'll be trolling your videos and you will hate me for it...lol...
...You can't shorten Hmong words like how you can in English. It makes no sense. I understand you're trying to fit it to the melody, but it won't work. 'But' is always 'tiamsis' and 'face' is always 'ntsejmuag'...you can't shorten it because the meaning will be lost... :/

@yellbuttflyaway I had a friend from Laos who teaches Hmong help me to translate this song. And my understanding is that there are certain Hmong words can be shortened without losing meaning because of the context, particularly in music.
