  • This video was perfect! I had never cooked or eaten an artichoke before. Your video helped me easily eat the artichoke and know what to do with it when I got done. The only thing was I didn't know when you cut it there would be a little brown from the cut, kind of like what an apple will do. The artichoke I made, per your instructions, was a hit.

  • @cayseas Thank you Cayseas! I will tell my mom that someone tried and liked HER recipe! lol.

I learned it from her. If you have a dog, let them have the left over leaves.. maybe its just my dog, but he LOVES TO EAT THE LEFTOVER LEAVES! ha ha!

I never paid attention to the brown where its cut, because I eat it right away.

    Thank you for watching. :-)

  • I like to eat artichoke hearts on pasta with basil pesto. MMMmmmm good!

  • I watched a lot of artichoke videos before deciding to use your/your Mom's recipe. I think it was the happiness that you conveyed while making your artichoke, the easiness of the recipe, and the simple instructions you gave that had me watching to the end. You also included eating instructions. Not only informative but very good movie making. I think your Mom did good but it's your recipe now, too. You are a natural. Hope to see more cooking from you in the future.

  • The original edition from 1974 is in French: 'ENCYCLOPEDIE DE MEDECINE NATURELLE' and there must be a Spanish edition too.

I guess 'CURARE LO STOMACO ERBE PIANTE MEDICINALI MEDICINA' is the Spanish title.

You can read Spanish or French? It's available on eBay.

  • You're welcome!

For preparing the leaves, Vaga advises a 6% decoct (cook the leaves in water, 6 parts of the plant on 100 parts water) 10 minutes cooking.

Actually the preparation everytime differs a little bit, depending on where you want to use it for.

In his book (mine is a Dutch translation) Vaga gives many other complaints against which the artichoke can be of help.

  • Well Thank you!! I will look for the book! Do you have instructions on how to prepare the leaves and flower parts for healing use? Thank you for that information!
