~Part ONE of THREE part series~

Shattered Dreams, Thursday April 2, 2009 @ San Marcos Baptist Academy, San Marcos, TX.
Warning: Graphic Images!

Winner - Texas Crime Prevention Assn. -2010 Outstanding Crime Prevention Program of the Year - July 15, 2010

Even though the images from this program are of actors wearing makeup, they can be offensive to some people.
Unique in its design and powerful in its impact, "Shattered Dreams" is an educational experience that reminds us all of the dangers associated with drinking and driving. It reminds us that too many young lives have already been lost and countless others severely impaired because of the tragic consequences of underage drinking and drinking combined with driving. "Shattered Dreams" is about drinking and driving. It's about living and dying. (http://www.tabc.state.tx.us/educa/shatdreams.htm)

  • @christiangal723 Well, Shattered Dreams is a Texas program started by a man who is now the sheriff of Travis County. He based it off the California program named "Every Fifteen Minutes." But that's if you want to get technical and because I learned that today at my school's first parent meeting. It's really an amazing program and we're blessed to be able to put it on.

  • @tunderhed Emergency responders (police, fire, paramedics, etc) typically donate their services to the program for free. There is a lot of work and planning involved, but the only cost for the school is things like food and printing supplies (which people frequently donate.) It can be costly - but it saves lives, so we think it's worth it! I participated in E15M at my high school, and it took a lot of work, but I thought that every bit of the work was well worth it.

  • @tunderhed Shattered Dreams is another name for a program that used to be (and maybe still is, I don't know) called "Every Fifteen Minutes." Every fifteen minutes, someone in the United States dies from a drunk driving car crash. E15M is a two-day program that schools across the country put on to show students the effects of drunk driving.

  • Wait sorry i dont understand this :P I know this is a reanactment with actors but first of all: Was this some sort of school project? What is Shattered Dreams? And where was this? It must have cost alot to get the police, paramedics, and fire department out there

  • We just had ours yesterday and today...(well, the funeral was today...) Check out my vid, it's actually very similar. (I live in Texas too) :/

    Please...no one drink and drive...
