& thought I knew love
The wings of my heart unfurled

But that was then
And this is now
My guitar is the friend I choose

Ive listened and learned
Im old enough now
That I finally understand the blues

I aint a young man
Life keeps moving on
A train wreck of joy and pain

I wear a necktie
The woman is gone
Faith & hope shot down in flames

Yesterday
Looks good sometimes
When a cold blue rivers on the loose

Ive played hard & true
