SPECIAL EVENT NOTIFICATION
INVOLVING ILLINOIS LAW ENFORCMENT TORCH RUN FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS On Friday, May 21, 2010, record numbers of Illinois police officers will stake out Dunkin Donuts rooftops this year to support the Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run to benefit Special Olympics. Even though the Westmont Police Department has supported the Torch Run for several years, this is the first year the department will participate in the Cop on Top event.
Police Chief Thomas Mulhearn will be on the roof of the Dunkin Donuts located at 19 West 63rd Street in Westmont, Illinois this Friday, May 21, 2010, from 5 a.m. until 2 p.m. This event is designed to heighten awareness and raise money for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.
In return for Chief Mulhearn and officers state wide donating their time at stores, Dunkin Donuts will donate $10,000.00 to the Torch Run. In addition, everyone who visits a Cop on Top store that day and makes a donation to the Torch Run will receive a free donut. Persons who donate at least $10 will receive a Law Enforcement Torch Run travel mug and coupon for free medium coffee. Other items, such as Torch Run T-shirts and hats, will be sold as well.
The Cop on Top event begins this Friday at 5 a.m. and runs until 2 p.m. A list of all participating Dunkin Donuts locations is available on www.soill.org. For any additional information, please call Chief Mulhearn at 630-981-6354.
