In Nepal, a rigid caste system and ineffectual government condemn most people to a life of abject poverty. Maoist rebels boast they will destroy the old order and restore good governance but their brutal tactics only cause more suffering.

@gladitsmonday Well, "developed" and "communist" can't be mentioned in the same breath in Western media... But there is something to be said for bringing in modern medicine, education, and so on (as a more uncouth reply pointed out). I understand your frustration, though. Being part Native American, I get sick of the fact that we are "lost in history" in most media - natives are only shown or discussed as they lived in the 1890s or earlier. I DO have a fucking cellphone and computer, too...

@MeesterCrumpet I've done a lot of traveling and living abroad, speak Hindi and Nepali and have a lot of friends from over there. I think I have the authority to make a comment on Youtube without being called an "angsty little idiot". I'm not one for personal attacks but that's a really terrible thing for you to say.
