This is a computer generated car crash test and, in fact, my first attempt to create a Car crash by using a car model, modifying the mesh to create bumps, and then using reactor and Particle flow for the simulation. The background is a single hires image and the camera move is just a 3D track from a previous video, reused in this one by copying keyframes in combustion. Render is done by using Vray, Global Illumination and HDR lighting. This animation was created to try and simulate a bad car accident caused by a strong impact of unbelievable force which throws the car and makes it turn on its own axis. This would be a potentially fatal accident.

  • Good job with the car crash, do you know where can I find a tutorial on how to make a car barrel roll like your video? plz reply

  • @techgamer550 I had no experience with car accidents when i created this animation. All you need to learn and understand is how Reactor (3dsmax dynamics integrated system) works. You can also do this with Particle flow box 2 and the (complicated) Thinking Particles, so i suggest looking into reactor first, then particle flow 2 tutorials. Learning the basics is easy...creating something compelling is another story altogether...

  • It's off the ground for two long and at points it should be touching the ground it isn;t.

  • @lance382 I have a far more spectacular version involving a train. I'll post it soon. I'm sure u will like it more.

  • @endocomar93 Yes, I agree, people keep telling me that, but i just like to exagerate things for spectacularity's sake.

  • lol this is nice, reminds me of an accident i had not a long time ago with my friends, 6 peoples including me, 2 were injured ( one had broken arm and leg, and the other one went to ICU but she survived =) ) but me and the other 4 survived with no single wound ( including the driver ). That was a near-death accident if you wanna know just watch the video lol its nearly the same, the car rolled all the way over to the opposite direction of the road, and the front wheels of the car were missing..

  • @iamxeddiex lol

  • @caspianfilms1 Thanks for your interest. I made the switch from visual effects to film directing. I will be posting new information about my current projects soon. Hopefully :).

  • @panthon thanks for your reply. can you tell me where are you based? and what you doing at the moment?

  • @NAITZern Deffo, "do the barrel roll"

  • @caspianfilms1 I believe it was created in 3-4 hours for the setup and animation, 1 h for the rendering and 1 hour for compositing it all together.

  • great work. how long did it take for you to create this?
