Powerbuilding or Power Bodybuilding uses bodybuilding exercises performend in a power momentum style (like in olympic lifting) to build up muscle mass and explosive real-world-strength (how do you throw a heavy garbage bag in the container?). Powerbuilding strengthens the tendons and connective tissue and the nerve-to-muscle-connection like no other training style! Power Bodybuilding was made popular in the early 90's through world's strongest Powerbodybuilder Jimmy "The Iron Bull" Pellechia. By the way, Jimmy's training series in the popular magazine "Muscular Development" and his incredible power were the reason why I started training in '93! Thank you for that, Jimmy, you are the best!

  • You are only doing half reps. You need to half the weight and do it properly. Sure you are a nice guy so I am not being critical but you have left you ego jump ahead of you. Half the weight and get 10 good reps out of 100 lbs.

  • @stevieeng34 Watch Cutler and Coleman train, they are doing the same! All that matters is heavy weight and explosive style! BTW, I grow best with this style, how will you argue with my results?

  • Thats really good!! I wish my dumbells went over 120lbs. im good for 16 reps with those. Keep lifting strong!!!!

  • Thank you :-)

16 reps with 120 lbs is a very good performance too!

BTW, I made my dumbells by myself out of an old barbell, lol.

Keep lifting strong too and take care ;-)

  • Wish people showed it in kg as well as lb after working it out pretty good but i think you would be best a little lighter and lifting higher

  • It's 90 kg. I've done reps with 100 kg and 110 kg too...

  • Word of advice, reduce the weight, improve the form.

  • thats great man, and yeh I gave it a go, I usually do this totally bent over on a bench with 176 no straps for 8 reps so I beefed it up to 200 strap free bent for 6 all the way up and for full stretch and yeh I'm drug free too.

  • Thanks for the advice! BTW, watch here on Youtube training-clips of Coleman and Cutler and you will see that they use mostly explosive partial reps in the semi-stretch position (x-reps) with heavy weights. Give it a try and you'll see that it works...
