No, I'm not saying that. I'm just saying that if people knew The Rentals were a sideproject of Weezer, they are going to think that it is just a side project. I don't know the status of Matt Sharp in Weezer right now, but all I know is The Rentals should be respected on the same level. That's why I said that they SHOULDN'T be just a side project. Not treated as so, anyway.

Sharp wasn't officially out of weezer untill 1998, this was well after the first rentals album, but before the second rentals album. Weezer was formed in early 90s, look it up if you care.

@interpolluter29 You know though truly it isn't a side project Matt left to form this group... Who's music, like you said is just as valid.... Matt is a talented artist... and Weezer indeed lost something special in him.... But let us all just enjoy both these great bands.....
