Virginia and Truckee Railroad Ballasts Government Reconstruction Project in American Flat

Shot in HD for the upcoming video: Unauthorized Biography of the Virginia and Truckee Railroad. Here's a video from summer of 2008 showing the ballast train running back up the hill through Tunnel 2 toward Scales in American Flat, Nevada. The private Virginia and Truckee Railroad was under contract to the government run Nevada Commission for the Reconstruction of the Virginia and Truckee Railway to ballast these tracks in Phase 2B of the project. Since then the tracks have been completed to the edge of Carson City and the Virginia and Truckee Railroad was again contracted to operate trains from Virginia City to Carson City through Gold Hill, American Flat, Silver City and Mound House.

Thanks, and I could shoot myself. Remember the video we did of the engineer's special? If I remember correctly we did that with both your cameras, I didn't use mine. Somewhere along the line I lost the video you had copied for me. Oh well, it wasn't the highlight but it was interesting. I don't suppose you still have the original HD footage laying around, do you?

I liked the video. The restoration and rebuild of the V&T would really please the late Mr. Lucius Beebe. I believe there are still a number of untapped mining resources in this region and the V&T is well-placed to move carloads of ore to remote processing sites. The 'New Discoveries' are just waiting to be made. This railroad could see a major 'revival'. I happen to know that there are untapped resources in the area/s and that if the rail connection is made to Reno, the V&T will be a winner.

Sorry, the footage is long gone, but the completed videos are on the external drive. I do recall exchanging the civil war stuff, but I'm not so sure we ever did the engineer's special.
