....gosh wow that was the 1st time I've see or heard russell being totally serious...in his 1st book he was never too serious, kind of went lighty into his experience but i've finally heard the emotion he was feeling about himself as opposed to the experiences he was having...poor soul

Brilliant, totally relate, same hatred for myself, all of it....Russell..you carry the responsibility of power brilliantly, you're a model for the masses ;), I'm glad you didn't lay into your dad too hard. Genius when you said the "problem aint in my family its in my head" good bit of wisdom.

THIS IS THE KIND OF SHIT AMERICA NEEDS ON TV. we dont have anything real anymore

People who think Ron is a terrible, horrible human are kidding themselves. He did everything Russell asked of him in this episode, and it's quite clear they get along well enough to have a few drinks with eachother (and/or prostitutes)
obviously he was never a great parent, but my god there's so much worse out there, at least they had a relationship at all. Read My Booky Wook, Russ says himself, in some ways his dad was surprisingly supportive - showing up to his school plays on all nights, etc.

For all those who are saying Ron Brand doesn't love his son, he didn't throw one single meaningful punch that whole match, he let his son win.

@sbwords The reason is because when you experience trails, particularly early on in life, many people become compassionate and understanding in a extensive way.

russell is gonna end up bald
it's excruciating hearing Russell say how deeply he hates himself. Perhaps even more so, when his father doesn't flinch at the idea that he'd kill himself.
