Great tips, I just got a serger, and like songbird says they give you awful directions. I really appreciate your time and effort.

You have a great machine for this kind of seam...(not all are). I remember when I first discovered the "blade-out" trick...it's a real breakthrough when you want to finish your piece...but are having that frustrating stitch-off-the-edge thing happen. I'm glad I can pass my tricks along this way.

Thank You!

Hey, You're welcome! Glad you like it.

Great, glad you like the demo. Did you try it on your serger with good results? If so, what fabric did you use?

I have no idea; I have never made my own panties. I think that's a question for your serger dealer.....
although what I would do is: try many different style seams on the exact fabric I am using; writing down the settings for each sample, then choose the best (keeping in mind seam stability, as well as look).

Wow this is the best video I have seen on you tube about sewing a roled hem thanks a bunch....

what stitch on the serger do you suggest to finish side seams on panties?
Thanks
Thank you!!! I was going crazy last night trying to figure out how to do a rolled hem. The bernina manual gives absolutely horrible directions. I have the 700D, I can't believe I was lucky enough to find a video with almost the same machine. I think the mistake I made was having the knife setting too low. Everything looked fine except the edge wasn't actually rolled over. I'm soooo glad you gave that tip...I'll try leaving a litte more cutting width and see how that works. Thanks again!
