I love this hymn, ripped it off for a pop song once. I like your version; I can just imagine a lounge crooner on a cruise ship performing it in spoken word over the top of your arrangement. Classic.
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (December 27), I played this for Sunday School assembly. I did so because the SS lesson for today was from Matthew 2: 7-9, 16-23. It was about the wise men, Herod's slaughter of the baby boys in Bethlehem, and Joseph and Mary's settling in Nazareth. And also, this was the recommended hymn.
Featuring Ross Geller.
