Increasing the money supply is the definition of inflation. Inflation isn't rising prices, its inflating the amount of money in circulation, prices rising are the result of inflation. And the government doesn't create inflation, you're right - the private central bank (FED) does. For me, freedom means being about to live on my own property with a garden and a few animals near a lake where all my food comes from the garden and animals, water from lake, shelter from house, and no taxes at all.

@ace11rothstein there is no set market movers, and traders do not control prices. supply and demand moves prices.

when you allow that to be the basics, its as close to efficiency as possible. of course the real world is not a theory in a text book, which creates discrepancies that pull away from efficiency. but bubbles are a resort of mass human error that negates basic economic principles. miss interpretation of info or rigging of prices, and market regulation like in the housing bub.

@EnslaveTheEmos Information alone does not move markets. All information must be taken in an evaluated by those who move the markets.

Prices are not set exogenously, traders need to move them to certain price points. This is not efficient.

@ace11rothstein the market takes every known piece of information into account when creating prices, hence why the market sets the most efficient prices when in equilibrium. however a lot of that information is artificial and creates bubbles.

in the housing bubble market principles were rejected when handing out garbage loans, loans so cheap and easy to get that demand for houses was artificially boosted and prices dropped against market principles. of course it burst and started a correction

@TheProgressistViewer actually if you do the math of the NH population, the amount of spending involved in NH campaigns for local office, breaking down the size of key districts, and other factors like that, 20k people has a huge effect on the local legislation process.
