You can see is intonated as a right handed guitar and I'd be shocked if he didn't get a right hand nut. If you're just going to try a lefty as a righty you don't need to do anything except change strings, but if you're going to "move in" a lot of things will need to be adjusted. For some of us that's half the fun.

As the owner of a 1984 strat (lefty also) , I'm pretty damn sure they didn't start making them in Japan until 1985. I use an ibanez tube screamer too by the way, good choice.
