Nat Star Studio Band.(UK)Sweet Jenny Lee....1931

My earlier Nat Star upload "lets do it" went to 200 views faster than any other artist l have previously uploaded..Great news for an artist who is meant to be almost forgotten..So here is another upload of Nat Star's..This version of Sweet Jenny Lee is played at a brisk pace with lovely sharp playing.We even have a couple of solos which is not especially common on his records.
In fact l cannot recall hearing a finer version of this song than this one.Sorry it's so quiet (anyone know how to increase the volume output) Tom Barrett sings a pleasant vocal
After Nat Star retired due to ill health in 1935,he started a radio shop,called Star Radio.which was run by his family.He later changed the name to Star Television and Radio and this was the very first time anywhere that the word Television was used for a retail outlet...Hope you enjoy this delightful record

Great stuff, this number has always been a favourite of mine. My preference amongst British bands is the Jock McDermott version but I have a cracking Swedish version by the Hakan Von Eichwald band, I recommend it!

@Adamunda345 Now l am keen to hear McDermott's version,and it's not on YouTube..l have heard a lot of songs by him,but not that song..Thanks for your comment

Hi David, I have over 40 tracks of Jock McDermott mostly restored from 78's but as I don't upload I can't play them for you! I would gladly send them to you on two cd's if you can think of a way to do it. I am in West Yorkshire.
