Bad policework right off the bat. His wound should have been swabbed and dna tested. Particulates from her nails would have possibly been in that wound. Not that that is impossible in any other scenario, but it's a case strengthener. Some of these case verdicts have hinged on less, an absence of dna has caused some cases to be dragged out for years. IMO that was a bit slack of this particular PD, assuming that is they didnt swab that wound.
