This video is to inform you of what kind of reaction one might have to animals if they are allergic. A lot of times people don't realize that they're allergic to dogs, cause a lot of people break out when they pick them up in what looks like "bug bites". So, most people assume that their dog just has fleas. I thought this for a while myself growing up when one day an allergist told me that I was allergic to dogs and that's why my skin broke out in bumps when I picked a dog up. That's when I discovered that it was an allergic reaction, not fleas biting me. lol. Maybe you're allergic to certain animals and are trying to find out if you are or not? Or maybe you just want to know about the kinds of reactions people have when they are allergic. Either way, enjoy. :) I must also mention that my dog is a short haired dog. I break out when I pick him up. But If I'm around a long haired dog, I get the same reaction as I would around a horse but a little worse. (Wheezing, watery eyes, stuffy nose, etc.) So, I can be around a short haired dog and breathe fine, but not for a long haired dog.... It's the dogs skin which is called "dander" is what we're allergic to. We're not allergic to the fur like most people assume. And more dander usually collects on long haired dogs than short haired dogs. That's why my reaction is a lot worse with long haired dogs. I'm also allergic to birds and bunnys. I have the same kind of reaction to birds as I do dogs(breaking out). But I have the same kind of reaction to bunnys as I do horses (wheezing).
And I just wanna say that I hate it when you tell someone you're allergic to certain animals, and they just assume that you don't like animals!! That's why I haven't told that many people about my allergies to animals. So if you know someone who is allergic to animals, that doesn't neccesarily mean they don't like animals! Being allergic to animals has no effect on whether you love animals or not. :)
Y'all should check out this website about being allergic to pets if you find the chance! It's really interesting and explains a lot of things. :)

Anyways, as always, comments will only be added with my approval. :)
I am allergic to any animal dander........so, I got a dog who is a maltese/poodle mix and problem solved because, they don't have dander at all! Years ago, I had a guinea pig and everytime I held her.........my skin would itch like crazy!
The problem I have with dander is........my asthma! I can't even go into a barn without my inhaler or I'm doomed!

@summerlove65 Wow, same for me! Dander gets my asthma acting up sometimes too..... It's usually horses and long- haired dogs that triggers it for me..... And it's so awful! It makes me feel like I'm breathing through a straw, and at times, like I'm breathing through even less than a straw!!
And yeah, I've heard about the poodle/ maltese mix being allergy free dogs. I would love to have one someday! That way I could actually hold it!

I just hate it :'(
do you know about any pills or something to help?
XxBrokenlySweet 1 year ago
@XxBrokenlySweet Well, there are no pills that will fix everything unfortunately. :( However, there are over- the- counter drugs that you can take such as Benadryl and Loratadine that might help with the breathing symptoms, such as wheezing and a stopped up nose.
