Oh...and the statue in the very, very beginning is Our Lady of Lebanon in Harissa, Lebanon. Note clue regarding last scene location: Turbaned "bawwab" (apartment building door man/concierge) coming to meet their taxi. - Signed, John the "Stupid American"

If I'm not mistaken, the scenes with the Roman ruins are from Baalbek, Lebanon. The "city" scenes are all Beirut (Lebanon). The last few seconds show them arriving "home" in Cairo, Egypt. (And please note that I am a "stupid, ignorant" American!)
