He is SOOO adorable.

@rer3family I may sound stupid but what is the difference between SMA1 and SMA2 because someone was so glad to hear SMA2 instead of SMA1. My thinking was SMA is just bad like Cancer is bad with stage 1 stage 2 stage 3 stage 4 being the worst A.L.S. is very close to SMA both end with wheelchairs, ventilators, feeding tubes, can't talk , major disability then death. Do SMA and ALS patients feal any pain needing morphine and or methadone pain killers.? Thanks

What does he get for food? What is the dark, black thing you give? I also fed probe
through a Mic-Key button, but we do in a different way.

I'm so sorry for your loss. SMA is such a terrible disease.

Yes, the thing on his face is a bi-pap mask that helped him breathe. Nate passed away 4/28/10.

@offspring199
I'm pretty sure it helps him breathe. It looks like a ventilator that's hooked up through his nose. I might be wrong though.

whats does he have
MaddieTights13 2 years ago
He has Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a genetic neuromuscular disorder that affects all of his voluntary muscles - head, neck, breathing, swallowing. It does not affect his mind. He's a normal little boy trapped in a body where his muscles don't work.
