Jerry Falwell was not a mean spirited individual, despite making comments that he later probably regretted.

That sums the comments of his widow, Macel Falwell, during an interview today on News Talk Online on Paltalk.com.

Mrs. Falwell has penned a book, Jerry Falwell: His Life and Legacy, in which she, an artist, paints him as a caring loving individual.

Falwell, she says, had friendships, not only with Ronald Reagan, with whom he supported politically, but also with Larry Flynt and U.S. Sen. Ted Kennedy, whom he opposed on moral and political grounds respectfully.

As for his oft quoted comments about 9/11 being God's answer to immorality and AIDS his answer to homosexuality, Mrs. Falwell believes her husband would, in retrospect, have wanted to rephrase his comments so as to be less offensive.

  • I lived in Lynchburg in the mid-90's and I felt with full force the affects of Falwell's mean spirited religious views. Fuck that guy, he's burning in hell as we speak.
