Nevada Senator Harry Reid today discussed the rise in Nevadas unemployment rate from 8.1 to 9.1 percent in December, well above the national average of 7.2 percent. Reid has been working closely with the Obama Administration and colleagues in Congress on an economic recovery package that will help put Nevadans back to work by investing in key energy and transportation projects. The plan also cuts taxes for struggling middle-class workers who are fortunate enough to still have jobs. As passage of the package nears, Reid will do all he can to ensure Nevada gets its fair share to help get our states economy moving again.
