I have been doing research on Circassian culture and I find it amazing. I think that the President of Adygea asked Circassians to come back to their homeland as citizens of Russia. Still I believe theses people would be better off as a separate nation.

The historical mistake! Modern Cherkessians, are not descendants of the Circassians. Descendants of the Circassians, Cossacks is today. Ethnonym Cherkessians - Adyge, the ethnonym of Cossacks - the Circassians. Turks called Adyge "Cerkesh", it means that thugs. It is total insulting nickname for the different peoples of the Caucasus. Hence the confusion between Cerkesh and Circassians. Cherkessians (Adyge) are Muslims and Cirkassians is Orthodox Christians.
