  • Not gateways problem! Apearantly it looks like you have an Intel motherboard, some are defective in the way that it keeps revving up the fan, mine does it too, randomly, came out of a Thresher seiries computer, update the bios and then see if it does it?

  • @mahmoudhamed6 That's worse! Ever hear a Dell fan at full speed?

  • replace with an aftermarkt 120mm or 90mm if 120mm is too big it will be wisper quiet

  • This issue was solved with a bios update. I got my Gateway GM5478 for 1/2 price as a refurb thanks to this issue. I bought it as soon as the bios update was released. Really nice deal for me.

  • gateway being an idiot clearly didnt check that the cpu fan was old and beatup so they were lazy and put into the first computer they could find its a good computer overall

  • @wretchedstare actually i hav an acer that's 1 year old and it runs perfectly fine. al also use tu have and acer lcd monitor for 5 years that i gave'd to one of my friends and it's still running ok. so it depends

  • Sounds like pumping the accellerator on a car, lol. Its a Gateway........burn it to the ground.

  • check ur processor

  • why fan is start in speed?

  • DELL FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!! (or alienware) :P
