  • Stupid video from a desparate Republican (big shock). Coleman's going down in November, everyone knows it. You can't vote with Bush 90% of the time and expect a political career afterwards. If this race had been held in '06, Coleman would already be back in New York, his real home.

  • Mr. Brodkorb, I would like to know what your personal beliefs are on "The Sanctity of Marriage." Has the thin possibility of "Gay Marriage" in Minnesota wounded your own marriage in any way? How?

Franken admitting that he doesn't begin his speeches in greater Minnesota by talking about Gay Marriage is just an admission that Gay Marriage is not a high priority in Greater Minnesota. More's the pity.

  • What a jerk. I knew went out with him In the 1970's and he was a jerk and a cocaine head. Yes he was into drugs! Now I guess he has forgotten those days at the Comedy Store.

  • Michael Brodkorb, the poster of this video, is now the vice-chair of the Minnesota Republican Party. He is trying to use gay marriage simply as a wedge issue.

The fact is the Republicans and people like Brodkorb are using fear of gay marriage for their own narrow political agenda. While he is posting this video, supposedly chastising Franken, Brodkorb and the Republicans does not support gay marriage.

This is simply good old Republican dirty tricks using fear and hate to divide people.

  • Evil. The man uses tact to avoid upsetting his audience. Who would do such a thing? I bet he is so duplicitous that he uses different language with his pals than with his grandmother.

  • And when you watch this video, note how he chokes on the word "Gay".

I am not for Gay Marriage, but I am not for hypocrisy, either. A liberal Democrat does not spend 20 years on SNL puttting on gay joke skits.

Al Franken scares me - he talks the talk, but he is personally intolerant of other viewpoints and demonizes anyone who does not agree with him.

The "parachute" candidates have an national agenda. Beware.

    Minnesota can do better.

  • Franken is a homophobe. Here is an interview from 1976:

Franken started to smile again, but his tone was serious, too serious. "It's not preppies, cause I'm a preppie myself. I just don't like homosexuals. If you ask me, they're all homosexuals in the Pudding. Hey, I was glad when that Pudding homosexual got killed in Philadelphia." The smile became so broad it pushed his eyes shut. He couldn't stand it any longer. "Put that in, put that in," Franken laughed, leaning over the desk.

  • Why does anyone really think gays and gay marriage should be part of any political agenda? What a monumental waste of time and energy. If it is about natural procreation, let's look into pairing it up with banning geriatric marriages. Heck, they aren't bringing any tax exemptions into the world either to boost the future labor pool.

As for the selective, out of context edit, it makes the poster look like a classic fool.

  • So you edit down the original video to 31 sec. to make Al look bad? Fucking fail. The longer version can be found on YouTube.
