DLR just couldn't,period,@TwinTurboGTO. Onstage he as a slacker. After a while the VH Bros. didn't think it was funny & wanted to be taking SERIOUSLY. Roth was the glamed out Flvor Flav.

VAN HALEN GOES DISCO !!, Eddie playing the keyboard part to the song on guitar is straight MONSTER !, Ed & Mike's background vocals are SUPREME ! Al is simply KILLER. Ed & Al are INDESTRUCTABLE. Altogether: AWESOME !!!!!!!

Here are the prime reasons Ed hated Roth. Live on stage, Roth couldn't cut it. Here,he's 1,984 sheets to the wind (the whole US Festival show,for that matter). He can't remember the lyrics to the songs & he's taking his trademark "WOW !!!!!" scream too far & pandering to the crowd too much. Ed was all set to join Kiss 2 yrs. earlier 'cause Roth was a killjoy. 2 yrs. after this,this was all corrected. We got a "BETTER" Van Halen.

I was there. Glen Helen. Memorial Day weekend, 83. Saturday night? Quiet Riot, Motley Crue, Scorpions, Judas Priest, Ozzy, Triumph? Great show. David Lee Roth got VH banned from San Bernardino County for life because of this show. Too much Jack. Way too much Jack.
